Illustration made for Mermay that evolved into a personal project, serving as a platform to explore and experiment with various illustration techniques. In the illustration, the jellyfish gazes longingly toward the surface, which for me reflects that feeling of wanting something just out of reach. The glowing palette of purples and blues emphasises the dreamlike mood, while the light breaking through the water hints at hope beyond the deep. This piece is very personal, since I see myself in that sense of yearning and wonder.
